"With over 150 million micro-loaners worldwide, 80% of which are women, microcredit is part of the solution to fighting global poverty and helps women and men who are excluded from the traditional banking system improve their lives. I am convinced that this tool contributes to women’s dignity.
When women get economic self-sufficient, they reinvest more systematically the income for their household needs -health care and children's education. Thus, they break down discrimination against girls.
My wish is for the PPR Foundation to stand by the side of MicroWorld.org and fund microentrepreneurs to the benefit of women. I am convinced that your support to the projects selected by the Foundation will make an important contribution to promote women’s rights and empowerment. Thank you."
