The First MasterCard Foundation Symposium on Financial Inclusion begins !

Many microfinance professionals and experts in financial services will be part on the 19th and 20th of July in Turin, Italy, of the first symposium on financial inclusion.

Organized by the MasterCard Foundation, the first annual symposium on financial inclusion will be held on July 19th and 20th in Turin, Italy, and will be chaired by Resta Roy, President and CEO of The MasterCard Foundation accompanied by Robert Christen, president of the Boulder Institute of Microfinance.

For this occasion, many microfinance practitioners and worldwide experts of financial services will meet and discuss on various topics to determine the needs of people living in poverty .

Focusing on the theme "customers at the center" , many debates on topical issues will take place, for example: what are the best growth opportunities for developing countries? How to provide services better tailored to the customer such as micro-insurance? etc ...

They will also question the use of new technologies in the context of money transfers via mobile phones for example.

The MasterCard Foundation will also seek to bring together participants and stakeholders to discuss their common interests and share experiences around meetings on subjects of their choice.

The purpose of this event will be to get a better understanding of the financial condition of customers living in developing countries. This knowledge can be used to create a new generation of useful financial products for people living in poverty and enable financial institutions to be economically viable.
